APC Smart-UPS C 3000VA LCD 230V (2100W) Rack mount 2U

APC Smart-UPS C 3000VA LCD 230V (2100W) Rack mount 2U
The APC Smart-UPS C backup power supply uses line-interactive topology and delivers a pure sine wave output. It provides an apparent power of 3000VA and a real power of 2100W, keeping connected devices running for 11.5 minutes at half load. This 2U rack-mounted device for 19" racks protects company servers, network components, POS terminals, and VoIP systems from unexpected power outages. Input power is supplied via an IEC 320 C20 connector. For connecting end devices, there are eight IEC 320 C13 output sockets and one IEC 320 C19 output socket, which provide both battery backup and surge protection. The free PowerChute Serial Shutdown software ensures the safe shutdown of operating systems by continuously monitoring the power status and performing an automatic server shutdown via USB or serial connection during a prolonged outage. For advanced virtualised or network environments, you can purchase a PowerChute Network Shutdown licence, which protects multiple servers simultaneously.

Topology and outage response
This backup power supply uses line-interactive topology for a stable 50Hz power delivery. During an unexpected power outage, the system switches to battery power in a typical 8ms, with the maximum transition time not exceeding 10ms. The output voltage has a pure, distortion-free sine wave form, making it suitable even for sensitive power supplies with active power factor correction in servers and network infrastructure.
Performance parameters
The backup power supply safely powers a load with a total real power consumption of up to 2100W. The total configurable apparent capacity is 3000VA at a nominal output voltage of 230V AC single phase. The harmonic distortion of the output voltage remains below 5% at full system load, preventing damage or instability in sensitive connected devices within data cabinets.
Operating efficiency
The device exhibits low energy losses during normal mains operation thanks to its integrated green mode, which bypasses unused electrical components under good power conditions. At 100% full load, the energy efficiency is 98.6%. At half load, the system operates with a high efficiency of 98.5%, reducing both running costs and heat generation.
Automatic voltage regulation and backup time
The integrated AVR system constantly corrects fluctuations in the mains supply, with automatic input frequency detection from 50Hz to 60Hz with a tolerance of +/- 3Hz. The technology adjusts low or high input voltages ranging from 180V to 287V to a stable level. This mechanism prevents unnecessary draining of the internal battery during normal mains fluctuations, thereby extending the overall battery life and maintaining a constant voltage. The internal batteries provide power for long enough to safely save work in progress. At 50% load, the runtime from the batteries is exactly 11.5 minutes. At full load with a power consumption of 2100W, the power supply powers connected servers for several minutes, specifically for 4 minutes and 15 seconds, giving administrators enough time to safely and correctly shut down all running processes.
Replaceable lead-acid battery and battery management
Inside the device is a sealed lead-acid battery with an acid electrolyte. The user can easily replace the battery while the unit is still running, without having to remove the entire chassis from the rack. The lifespan of the original battery is between three and five years under standard operation. For replacement, use the compatible original APCRBC151 battery module, which restores the power supply's performance to its original level. The built-in smart charger has a nominal charging power of 163W. It takes 3 hours to fully charge a depleted battery. The system includes automatic deep discharge protection, which reliably prevents cell damage. Management is also made easier by a built-in audible alarm that alerts you to battery operation and low charge levels, and offers the option to configure delays for individual alerts.
Surge protection and filtering
The device effectively protects connected sensitive electronics from dangerous voltage spikes and surges. The surge energy rating is 300J. Multi-pole noise filtering dampens unwanted electromagnetic interference on the line, meets the 0.3% IEEE surge let-through standard with zero clamping response time according to UL1449, and maintains a stable, clean power supply without unwanted interference. The rear panel includes communication ports for secure connection to a computer or management server. A standard USB interface and a serial port are available. The device also offers a free SmartSlot, which is used for installing an additional network card for remote management. This optional card is used for comprehensive monitoring and configuration of the power supply's parameters via a web interface from anywhere on the network.
