The Ubiquiti UniFi 4 NAS serves as network storage for data backup and storage in a home or business environment. This Tower device can accommodate up to four SATA hard drives and two M.2 NVMe drives. A quad-core 1.7GHz ARM Cortex-A55 processor is complemented by 4GB of system memory. For connecting to the local network, there is a 2.5Gb/s RJ45 Ethernet port for data transfer. The 5Gb/s USB-C interface is used for connecting additional peripherals. The entire system is powered by an external 90W PoE+++ adapter.

Disk capacity
The storage offers four bays for 2.5" or 3.5" SATA hard drives. These bays are complemented by two slots for M.2 NVMe drives. Using an SSD cache speeds up access to frequently used files and data. The device supports RAID 5, RAID 6, and RAID 10 disk arrays. The total power consumption of the installed drives is up to 80W.
Network connectivity and interfaces
Network connectivity is provided by a single 2.5Gb/s RJ45 Ethernet port, which the device uses to transfer data on the local network. The device also offers a 5Gb/s USB-C port for connecting peripherals. The integrated Bluetooth 4.1 interface is used for wireless setup and management. All system status information is displayed on the 1.47" colour LCM display.
Backup options and cloud services
The system supports automatic data backup from client devices and servers. Users can back up data to cloud services such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Amazon S3, or Backblaze B2. Time Machine protocol support is available for backing up computers running macOS. File encryption is also available to protect stored data. Local backups can be saved to servers using CIFS and SMB protocols.
Construction and operating conditions
The Tower chassis measures 129 × 246 × 224.5mm. The polycarbonate construction has a total weight of 2.6kg without drives installed. The device operates in a temperature range of -5°C to 40°C with an ambient operating humidity of 10% to 90% non-condensing. The system is powered by the included external 90W PoE+++ adapter. The total power budget for installed drives is 80W and the device is FCC, CE, IC, and NDAA certified.
Management and software features
Users can manage the entire system via the web interface or the UniFi Drive mobile app. The mobile app requires iOS version 10.32.1 or Android version 10.35.1 and newer. The storage supports file sharing via SAMBA, HFS, and CIFS network protocols. User groups with different access rights can be created in the system. System snapshot support for data recovery is also available.
