Ubiquiti UniFi 2 black
Ubiquiti UniFi 2 black
The Ubiquiti UniFi 2 network storage device is designed for storing, sharing, and backing up data in both home and office environments. It has space for two 3.5" SATA HDDs and supports RAID 1 mirrored array configuration to protect your stored data against the failure of one of the drives. It connects to the local network via a 2.5Gbps Ethernet interface. The system is NDAA-compliant and offers file encryption as well as system snapshot support for data recovery when needed.
Key features of the Ubiquiti UniFi 2 NAS, black
- Two drive bays for 3.5" hard drives
- Supports RAID 1 data mirroring
- 2.5Gbps network connection speed
- 4GB of RAM
- Powered by PoE++ standard with the included 60W adapter
- Integrated 1.47" colour display
- Supports cloud backups to Google Drive and OneDrive
Hardware performance
The entire system is run by a quad-core 1.7GHz ARM Cortex-A55 processor. Smooth task processing is supported by 4GB of system memory, which maintains a stable response time when multiple users are accessing the network. The internal architecture also includes an M.2 slot for a SATA interface, and the system requires UniFi Drive version 3.1.7 or higher, or the mobile app for iOS and Android.
Network interface and connectivity
Data transfers on the local network are handled by a single RJ45 Ethernet port supporting speeds of 10Mbps, 100Mbps, 1Gbps, and 2.5Gbps. On the device itself, there is one additional USB-C port with a throughput of 5Gbps for connecting other external drives. Wireless setup and initial configuration are made easy with the integrated Bluetooth 4.1 interface, which is used for communicating with a mobile phone.
Backup options
The device supports automatic data saving and sending backups to remote systems on the network. Users can take advantage of direct backups to cloud services like Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, or Wasabi. Backups to a remote UNAS server are also available, as well as backups to CIFS or SMB servers, and there is also support for the Time Machine protocol for macOS computers.
Management and software features
Standard network protocols SMB and NFS are used for file access, complemented by support for SAMBA, HFS, and CIFS file sharing. The current device status and network activity are shown on the 1.47" colour LCM display. Data, shared folders, encryption, and user groups are managed by the UniFi Drive application for mobile devices and the web interface.
Construction and power
The polycarbonate construction weighs 1.3kg without hard drives installed. It is powered via the included adapter with PoE++ support and a 60W output. The entire system's consumption stays under 60W, with a power budget of 52W for the drives. The device operates reliably in a temperature range of -5°C to 40°C at an ambient humidity of 10% to 90%.
