The Tapo C220 indoor rotating camera provides detailed home monitoring with a high resolution of 2560 × 1440px and 69° horizontal coverage. It is powered by a mains adapter, and a microSD card slot or cloud storage is available for saving recordings. The Tapo C220 camera captures its surroundings using a 1/3" sensor and a lens with a 4mm focal length and F2.0 aperture. The resolution reaches 2560 × 1440px at a frame rate of up to 30fps, ensuring a smooth and sharp image. For efficient data stream management, it uses H.264 video compression, which significantly reduces storage capacity requirements while maintaining high detail quality. Thanks to its wide pan and tilt range with digital zoom, the camera allows for detailed close-ups of selected areas in the room.
Classic Night Vision
The device reliably monitors the area even in complete darkness or in poor light conditions. The integrated night vision works with an 850nm infrared illuminator. This system provides a clear black and white image with a range of up to 10m. The camera automatically adapts to the light conditions in the room and maintains continuous surveillance of the selected area without the need for external lighting.
Smart AI Detection and Instant Notifications
Advanced artificial intelligence algorithms recognise specific objects and sounds in the monitored area in real time. The system can identify people, pets, vehicles, a baby crying, glass breaking, a dog barking or a cat meowing. The Motion Track function automatically follows a moving object in view, keeping it in the centre of the frame. The user can set custom activity zones and blocked privacy zones, and if the area is breached, the camera will trigger a light and sound alarm with a volume of 99dB.
Two-Way Audio Communication
This device has a built-in microphone and speaker that provide clear audio transmission. An integrated noise cancellation system reduces ambient noise and increases the intelligibility of spoken words. Using the mobile app, you can remotely communicate with family or pets in real time. The audio system is also used to reproduce the built-in siren in the event of an unauthorised entry into the monitored area.
Flexible Recording Storage
Users have a choice of two main ways to store their captured videos. The Tapo C220 camera includes a physical slot for a microSD memory card with support for capacities up to 512GB for local storage with no extra fees. The alternative is encrypted cloud storage via the Tapo Care service, which keeps recordings securely on a remote server. The system supports both event-based detection recording and continuous recording.
Connectivity and App
Wireless network connection is via 2.4GHz WiFi with support for IEEE 802.11b/g/n standards. The Tapo C220 camera supports ONVIF and RTSP protocols, which facilitates integration into systems from other manufacturers. The device is managed via the Tapo app for Android and iOS operating systems, which communicates in Czech, Slovak, English, German and Hungarian. There is also support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice assistants for convenient control.
