Csavargódal is a cooperative story-driven game where players take on the role of vagrants on a spooky adventure aboard a supernatural ghost train. A campaign of over 20 scenarios awaits players on board the Silver Ferryman, where they try to save the soul of a poor unfortunate trapped between life and death and uncover the secrets of the train. The rules of the game change during the adventure, so you'll need to approach the challenges a little differently each time you play. Some actions, abilities, or characters change how they work, which means the game is constantly evolving from one scenario to the next, ensuring that no two games are the same. Csavargódal is designed for 2–4 players aged 14 and over. You should set aside 45–120 minutes per game.

Uncover the stories of lost souls
Each player chooses one of six unique vagrants, each with their own abilities and ways of helping the group. Together, they progress through more than twenty interconnected scenarios, uncovering the stories of individual spirits – so-called 'Haints' – and trying to restore their lost humanity before they lose their own. During the Csavargódal campaign, the characters develop and gain new skills and useful items, so their options gradually change.
It's not enough to just defeat the ghosts
Each scenario in Csavargódal is a self-contained adventure with its own story, rules, and adversary. Players move through the individual carriages, exploring them, searching for items, and using their abilities. The strength of actions is determined by coins that players assign to them, and uncertainty is introduced by dice rolls. After each player's turn, it's the Haint's turn, whose behaviour is determined by special scenario rules and random tokens from a bag. The goal is not simply to defeat the ghosts – players must discover what a particular Haint needs, perform its ritual, and restore its humanity. If any of the vagrants lose all of their humanity, they are not eliminated from the game, but transform into their ghostly form and gain new abilities.
