Instructions for setting up the Travelite Air Base TSA suitcase lock
You can change the combination of numbers using the following procedure:
1. The default combination is set to 0-0-0. 2. Open the lock using the current code (usually the default 0-0-0). 3. Locate the reset button or lever (usually marked A). Press it inwards or slide it until you hear a "click". 4. Turn the dials to the combination of your choice. 5. Slide the latch or reset lever back to its original position. This will save the new code. 6. Test the new code - turn the dials and check that the lock opens correctly.
Not all models of TSA locks have a separate "reset" button - with Travelite locks, the reset button is part of the mechanism, not an external button that could easily be reset without a click signal.
When the lock is opened during the check, an opening indicator may appear (e.g. red mark), which can usually be returned to its original position by locking it again.
Please save the new combination - for security reasons, it is not possible to reset the factory code without knowing the selected combination.
TSA lock
The TSA lock system, marked with a red diamond symbol, is primarily designed to make it easy to open your luggage without damaging it during any inspection. At the same time, this check can be carried out more quickly. With this type of lock, TSA security officers can open and inspect your bag without having to destroy the lock. All TSA locks are identified by the code TSA001 to TSA007, which corresponds to the type of master key that is used to open this type of lock. Keys to TSA locks are not over-the-counter and are only available to TSA personnel. After checking your luggage, these staff are required to insert a check notice into your suitcase and the suitcase must be relocked. It is especially recommended when traveling to the US, as the TSA is primarily a US organization, but TSA standards are also used at airports outside the US.Specifications
