Martensitic stainless steel blade
The stainless steel used in OPINEL blades is of an optimized grade that guarantees high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance. The blade offers excellent sharpness and high abrasion resistance, allowing it to withstand regular contact with hard materials such as ceramics before needing to be re-sharpened. Stainless steel has the advantage that it requires no special maintenance in normal use, unlike carbon steel. However, its limits can occur if it is exposed to a harsh environment (acids, salt water, detergents, etc.) for an extended period of time. ).
