After many years’ experience using Nicron B10 on my keys, I decided to buy something a little smaller and even more powerful. The finish on the torch is excellent. The material looks hard-wearing, and after a month of carrying it on my keys, there are no signs of significant wear and tear apart from the colour being slightly scuffed. The glass looks sturdy too, and so do the plastic parts. The clip looks like a handy little gadget, although I haven’t had a chance to use it yet. On paper, it should have 150 lm more than the Nicron B10, but in real-world use it seems to me to be perhaps a little weaker; it might be down to the wider beam angle, but as I say, I don’t really notice any greater output. I find the key ring rather awkward, although the way it attaches via the expansion mechanism looks clever; it’s quite a faff to sort this out in the dark. I’d actually prefer a small, foolproof carabiner, which I eventually moved from the Nicron to the Wuben. The magnet in the design might be a plus for some people, but for me it’s more of a nuisance, as coins and other bits and bobs keep getting stuck to the torch in my pocket. Overall, I am satisfied. The torch is small and, considering its price and size, is powerful enough. It’s perfect as a small pocket torch for all emergency situations.
