I'm thrilled with it, for just over 6,000 it's a perfect projector. I have a 120” screen in my living room and from a distance of about 3.2m (front of the projector) it can manage just over 110”.
The brightness is pretty decent, it probably won't be 1,100, but it's close to that figure. You can watch it during the day, but you need to at least close the blinds or prevent the sun from shining into the room. It won't be a 100% experience, but it's acceptable. In the evening, it's a different story; when you play a high-quality source, the picture is very nice. The HDR10 helps a lot, even though the colour reproduction and backlighting aren't the absolute best. But logically, you can't compare it to a TV. The really worst part is the system. I haven't looked inside yet to see if it's possible to replace the integrated Android HDMI stick, but that can be easily solved with a better box.
Personally, I prefer Android TV to Google TV, but unfortunately, Google is going the Google TV route. I would recommend the projector to anyone who has space for a screen or has space on a wall. I would definitely get a tripod or a ceiling mount. For the ceiling, you need to get a longer power cable, as the one included is quite short.
The remote is really bad, both the feel of the buttons and its usability. For the initial pairing, I tried several batteries, and you need to have some better ones, and most importantly, fully charged ones. It finally paired after about the third battery change (using better rechargeable ones).
The picture is nice and large
the fan noise isn't too distracting, but sometimes it gets a bit louder, though most of the time it doesn't bother me

I’ve swapped this projector for a Wanbo DaVinci 1 Pro – quite a step up in terms of brightness and quietness.
It offers 4K projection, but I assume this is merely a digital effect, as it is actually a Full HD version. In my experience, I’d recommend setting up the projector in a fixed position from which you’ll be projecting, and painting the frame created by the projector with a light grey matt paint; this results in a slightly darker image, but it really brings out the colours and the black incredibly well.

Installation is childbirth. But if you can handle it and not return the z5 it's a super projector for such a small price. Don't expect to watch it in the daytime without tinted windows.

It is difficult to infer from the proclaimed specifications of the projectors exactly what the image will look like on a screen or wall. If you're looking for a cinematic image, it's that much harder. I've tried a lot of projectors both budget and let's say semi lcd and dlp, but exactly what you are looking for is just not describable. Sometimes you find the image too raw, sometimes it's like "nothing", dlp is probably nicer in general, but only for those who don't suffer from rbe. If you see a rainbow, it's hell, especially with the Alien gouges, where the image is based on a dark background and harsh lights. Then you're at a disco in the middle of strobe lights, headache. 3LCDs tend to "outline" characters and objects, it is due to the technology of lcd panels where the gradual shade transitions are coarser, known as "fence effect". Even that may not be pleasing to the eye. Paradoxically, I have so far found a Wanbo x5pro new edition projekotr in an affordable price range, which surprisingly doesn't accentuate any of the ills like fence effect too much and the picture remains quite soft for a 1lcd option. What the projector doesn't like is too much digi zoom, if you're at some 70-60% the image gets incredibly zoomed out. Pixels on a trip. If you have a throw distance such that you maintain 100-90% in zoom, the image will be surprisingly nice. What you feed the projector with also plays a role. So I'm sticking with Wanbo for now, not sure I would get a many times better picture for many times the price. That's not really how it works, to my knowledge. Finding your image is a lot of work.
