The belt itself is quiet, but the footfalls on it are quite noisy, so any neighbours in a block of flats will probably not appreciate the night or early morning exercise: ) The first time I unfolded it, I was a little worried that it was too stiff to unfold so I wouldn't ruin the belt, but it really just takes more strength. Calibration requires patience and following the English instructions. There is an incorrect and insufficient translation in the Czech version. I personally use it for walking at 5,5-6,5 km/h., at this speed the belt and handle are stable and pleasant to use. At higher speeds, the handle is quite shaky when running without holding on and overall the belt seems a bit wobbly - but it's a walking belt not a treadmill, so OK for me: )
