When problems began with the functionality of the now age-old bell, which had to be in a certain place to even catch the signal from the transmitter, I started looking for a replacement. But I have to admit that it lasted about fifteen years. I found a replacement in the reviewed model and after getting it working and setting the tune it is functional to satisfaction. I was surprised by the signal range, which is really good in the built-up area. The transmitter is in a nice post by the door, on the way to the receiver it is still shielded by the outside building and then through several walls inside the main building it works reliably. We'll see what it looks like when the batteries die.
