It's working as it should. I have a monitor with only one HDMI input and I needed to easily switch between the two inputs. At the same time, I didn't want anything unnecessarily expensive and complicated that I would have to power with another cable. This way, I just have three cables going into it, and that's it. I also welcome the fact that it doesn't switch to active input by itself, but only when I click the button. By default I have one input connected and I only want to switch to the other one in specific cases. It takes a few seconds to switch. I don't know why, but it doesn't bother me.
It's working as it should.
Bi-directional, i.e. the possibility to use as a switcher of two inputs to one display or as a switcher of two displays from one output.
It does not need an external power supply.
It takes a few seconds to swap inputs, but I don't mind.

switching between inputs will also cause Widnows to think it's switching between the main and secondary screens.
It is therefore important which hole you plug which wire into.
It took me a while to figure it out, plus it's inappropriate behavior because it totally ruins my usecase. (Ntb for example does not want the screen black if the cable is connected as a secondary. And it only lights up after you enter the similarities password. )
It's not supposed to play main/second monitor at all.
