A superb texture rivalling that of professional machines and a lovely summer treat
I’m extremely pleased with this Tefal ice cream maker. The resulting texture and creaminess of the ice cream really do come very close to that produced by professional commercial machines in patisseries. The ice cream is perfectly smooth and free from ice crystals.
The only slight difference compared with large professional machines is that the resulting consistency is a little softer immediately after mixing (it’s more like fresh Italian gelato). It’s perfect for serving straight away, but if anyone prefers a firmer texture, simply pop the ice cream in the freezer for a moment after scooping it, and that sorts it.
The key to success here, however, is the right recipe – just as with professional machines, you need to keep an eye on the fat content of the mixture and the amount of sugar. It is precisely the right balance of these ingredients that determines the perfect result.
Another huge advantage is the versatility of the device as a whole. As well as traditional ice cream, it can be used to make absolutely delicious slushies and perfectly chilled drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. It’s absolutely brilliant for summer and parties.
