First, I bought a 3W electric insect killer, but that one tended to attract mosquitoes and when a fly flew into it, it often didn't even kill it. This zapper is significantly brighter and attracts flies even from quite a large distance. I use it in an attic of about 60m² and it works really well for a space like that. When a fly flies into it, you hear a typical loud “crack”, similar to the sound of throwing children's “snap bangers” sold on New Year's Eve on the ground. Surprisingly, even at the stated 2000V, the shock isn't always instantly fatal, and some flies stay alive for a little while after being zapped. The biggest disadvantage, however, is the really loud noise. The cracks are so loud that I can even hear them in the garden in front of the house, so I prefer to turn it off at night. Overall, though, I am satisfied with its effectiveness. It really does attract and eliminate flies, and for me, it's definitely a better solution than using repellents or traditional flypaper.
