Purchased for home use. It reliably eliminates flies and mosquitoes; we haven't had any other critters at home yet, so I can't comment on those. At dusk or after dark, it reliably attracts and eliminates all insects. Its effectiveness is lower in the light, as it's not as much of a beacon for flies, but even so, it significantly reduces their population. The zap that hits the insect is quite powerful and therefore loud. It's a fair old crack, so in a room where you sleep, you could probably only use the device with earplugs. The loud zap isn't a fault of the product, it's just the way electric shock extermination works and you can't cheat physics. It's the price you pay for the fact that it will even eliminate a sturdy fly, whereas some less powerful devices are, at best, only sufficient for a fruit fly or a mosquito.
