Short-term (e.g. until the new vacuum cleaner/mop arrives, something) the swiffer is surprisingly functional. But for a longer period of time (more than a month) a completely uneconomical solution. And it's not even environmentally friendly. The moistened wipe needed to be dampened with a spray bottle of sanytol to complete the cleaning towards the end, but it cleaned up. It's not as good for cleaning as a vacuum cleaner and mop, but for shorter and temporary periods it will suffice.
