The set is very compact when not in use – it takes up no more space than the largest container, which has a capacity of approximately 2.3 litres. It has a nice design. The bowls are semi-transparent; they have a slightly rougher surface on the outside and are smooth on the inside. Thanks to the glass lid, you can see right into the container (provided it doesn’t get misted up). The lids seal well and a vacuum can be easily created using a mechanical pump. However, the valve is fairly easy to loosen. I also appreciate the fact that the containers can be used in the microwave. Unfortunately, in one of the bowls, both the seal and the valve had absorbed the smell of the food, and we were unable to remove it even after washing it several times. I bought the containers mainly so that I could keep food fresh for longer in the fridge, and they have served that purpose.

Sliced fruit, vegetables and cheese really do stay fresh for longer (even after two days, they still look as if they’ve just been sliced). The downside is that the air-release valve isn’t very secure, so all it takes is a gentle tap on the valve for the vacuum to be partially released and for some air to get in. But there is still a certain amount of negative pressure, and the container is sealed so tightly with its lid that it is impossible to open it. To open the container, you must pull firmly on the valve and lift it upwards to allow air to enter fully and thus release the vacuum. So the valve is sort of semi-rigid, I’d say. Overall, I’m very happy with the containers and would definitely recommend them.
