I was completely captivated by the fire pit, so I bought a second one for my holiday home. I use kindling chips, which you can buy in various hobby shops in 6 kg packs (they’re just the right size). You have to keep adding wood every now and then, but that’s exactly what I really enjoy – a little interactive fire right on the table – every few minutes I pop in a stick or two and enjoy the crackling fire. It uses about one kilo of those chips an hour. The fire pit mat stays cool – you can easily place it on the table.
