The adhesive on the Velcro strip hardly sticks at all, and at the same time the whole strip is strangely twisted; when applied, this twisting does not change in any way. Sooner or later, dust will get into the adhesive, and under the strain caused by the negative pressure generated when the portable air conditioner is running, the Velcro will come away from the window. What’s more, I’ve had experience with a similar tape from a different pack by a different manufacturer, and I know that a tape of such poor quality will warp completely due to high temperatures and subsequently peel off on its own. Only buy this if you’re prepared to buy a new, higher-quality Velcro strap as well.

I’ll only find out if it works as it should once I’ve bought a new Velcro strip, because the one that comes in the pack is absolutely useless.

This product is absolutely useless; on hot days, the Velcro adhesive doesn’t stick to plastic windows – it peels off.
An open window is not secured in any way to prevent it from moving; if you are on the ground floor or first floor, I strongly advise against using this type of product.
If Alza is interested, I’d be happy to send them a link to a product from another retailer that performs the function of an adapter – including locking the window in place – perfectly. You could add it to your menu as well.
