We bought this coffee machine as a replacement for our previous Siemens TE651209RW, which we were very happy with in terms of coffee quality. Unfortunately, with the EQ700, we were expecting at least the same, if not better, results, but the opposite is true. We are using the exact same coffee beans as in the previous machine, so we have a direct comparison. The café crema has almost zero foam compared to the older model, and even when set to strong coffee, the resulting drink isn't pleasantly bold. The coffee seems weak and watery, or 'dishwater' as some would say, both in taste and appearance. In terms of the quality of the final coffee, it doesn't even come close to our old Siemens. For a coffee machine in this price category, this is a really big disappointment for us, especially when a cheaper and several-year-old model made significantly better coffee and a beautiful foam on the café crema. The only plus point compared to the previous model is its quieter operation. That's nice, but when I'm buying a coffee machine, the taste and quality of the coffee are what matter most to me. So for us, it's unfortunately a step backwards compared to the TE651209RW, which sadly gave up on us after 2.5 years.
