Unfortunately it has been returned so untested but looks otherwise very good. I believe it was just one defective piece, but in the end I preferred to choose a simple toaster without replaceable plates and I'm actually happy too: -)

The plates that look like they are for the grill are for panini, so there is more distance between them when closed. It's not really suitable as a grill. Unless it's something that's 3 cm thick.
