The lifetime of the LC panel is very low. During the first year of use, the backlighting of some segments gradually starts to fade until it goes out completely at the end, rendering the display unusable. This is the second piece and the previous one ended up on warranty 3 times in two years.
If someone needs a designer industrial light element for the study rather than an alarm clock and doesn't care about absolutely accurate time and long life, then this is a good choice. I probably wouldn't put this device in my bedroom because the backlight is too intense even at the lowest level.
