After a year of regular use at the gym, it did not go unlocked - apparently I inadvertently changed the password, as other reviewers warn. I'm sure the hedge was correct and in the right direction. It had to be destroyed with cleavers.
I've had a couple of times where the code has changed itself, I don't know if it's due to shocks or what. At one time I would have said it was a coincidence, but when it happens to a girlfriend with the same lock a week after me, it's weird.
Better to pay extra for a better one than buy more of this cheap crap.
