The food does not heat up so that you burn, but really to a pleasant temperature. We did not test whether the food heats up in the quarter hour declared by the manufacturer. We just put the food on to warm up about half an hour before the planned break/lunch and that was it. It would be ideal to wash it off after a quarter of an hour, but we are satisfied anyway.
