One holiday, 4 bikes. Attaching the bikes, at least the first one, is a bit of a faff. You need to experiment with how to position the bikes relative to each other; they're quite close together in my opinion, and you have to move the seat posts or remove them entirely. It's probably best to pad the areas where the bikes touch with a cloth. Ideally, two people should do it. I didn't use the straps to secure it to the boot, and the journey went fine. With 4 bikes, the rack does wobble a bit / slightly, but I guess that's true for all racks, including the most expensive ones.
