I bought the sachets when I was trying to get rid of that ‘new car’ smell, which was really strong, and I didn’t think it would go away in a few days. They probably won’t help on their own; I mainly relied on the combination of high temperatures (it was summer), leaving the car parked in the sun with the windows open 2–3 cm, placed the sachets on the dashboard, always aired the car thoroughly in the evening, and after 3 days the ‘new car smell’ has really almost completely disappeared! I think it was mainly down to the heat, which helps those toxic volatile substances (which some people find pleasant-smelling) to evaporate, and that the bags didn’t play the biggest part. But I’m sharing my experience for those who might find themselves in a similar situation to the one I was in. I just couldn’t imagine driving around in that stench for several weeks or months, so I tried to get rid of it as soon as possible!
