I left myself a good amount of time before I wrote the review but that's for the sake of being able to explore the phone properly. First impressions:
The Nokia 235 4G mobile phone is nicely sized, it fits in the hand, only the edges are a bit sharper, so it may bother some people and may be uncomfortable. A 4-way cross could be bigger. Typing on the keyboard is very good. A minor drawback is that after unlocking the phone you go straight to the menu or quick selection, which is sometimes not very pleasant. The mobile phone also noticeably lacks Cloud applications, such as YouTube, Wikipedia, but this is because in Europe these services are not supported, which I do not understand why and it takes away from the rating. Switching on Bluetooth or mobile data is not very intuitive, nor is changing the PIN card intuitive at all.
The user can also set the color scheme, but the black background cannot be changed, which I consider to be probably the biggest mistake. Now I'm going to go app by app. 1. Call history
Normal call manager. Missed calls, dialed numbers, length of incoming calls, Rejected calls. Numbers can also be added to the blocked list. 2. Contacts
It's pretty cool, the only big minus I see is that you can't set a profile photo to a contact. Numbers from the SIM can be copied to the phone's memory, which has space for up to 2000 contacts, but the reverse bulk transfer is not possible, just manually mark everything, which is a minus.
Searching for a contact works by typing their name. I was pleased to see that the phone can send a VCF file, which is a calling card. Such SMS costs 5 CZK. 3. Gallery
A simple photo explorer. It is worth mentioning that the App includes a very simple, but functional, basic photo editor. The application offers the possibility of presenting photos with simple animated transitions. 4. Internet
Works through the Opera Mini graphical terminal. As an emergency use good, but for example to find a connection on it is impossible. The advantage is that it eats really little data, so you can get 500 MB a month for some more regular surfing. 5. SMS
Here I see a big minus in the fact that SMS are conducted as Messenger-style conversations, but scrolling is sometimes not very pleasant. You can also send and receive MMS without problems. 6. Camera
No miracle, but as an emergency camera probably good. 2 Mpix are not downright bad. I see a plus in the setting options such as exposure, contrast, brightness, etc. The effects should not be missed either, but I consider them outdated and more for entertainment. Of course, the mobile phone can also record, but the videos are in the prehistoric 3gp format - nowadays I expect mp4 everywhere. 7. Files
Normal file management on your phone and SD card. 8. Games
The mobile phone verifies 9 games, but only 1 of them is free - Snake. The other 8 games are paid and you only get 3-5 free games to try.
The snake here is quite hilarious, but Snake Xenzia is no match. 9. Facebook
For some reason it's not working. 10. Radio
A big plus that the radio plays without headphones. The radio contains the usual functions. Tuning, saving stations, etc. 11. Videos
A simple video viewer. No extra special features. 12. Music
Music playback apps. Here I was very disappointed by the cumbersome creation of playlists and the insertion of songs into playlists. It's not very intuitive and it's tedious. You can't set the equalizer, and the preview photo can only be attached as metadata on Android, otherwise it just shows a grey area of notes.
But the speaker sounds very good and loud. 13. Settings
The classic mobile phone settings app. System, profiles, time and language, security, etc. 14. Alarm clock
Intuitive app for setting the alarm. Of course there is also the possibility of repeating the alarm. 15. Extra
World time, timer, unit conversion, calculator, calendar, flashlight, data counters (very useful), sound recording.
There is a great lack of Notes, which I consider a significant minus. OVERALL RATING
The phone looks good at first glance, but the quality is not at all equal to the original Nokia. HMD could have done much better.
So, average for me. 3/5. It's not a downright bad mobile phone, but it's not a downright great one either.
