The main virtue of this machine is the preparation of espresso and espresso drinks. Anything else filter coffee/cold brew based (not necessarily cold press) is more of a marketing ploy to lure in a multitude of features. A much better filter will do in a classic V60 / Switch / Hoop. But that doesn't matter at all in this price range, because the machine can produce a consistent, good espresso. A grinder with a built-in scale is consistent within a reasonable variation of max. a few tenths of a gram (again, for espresso only, the grind on the "filter" is time-based as it is too fast for more accurate measurement using the built-in scale). The water dosage is volumetric, but also fairly consistent (with a maximum deviation of about 5ml in my measured cases at a ratio of 1:2.5). The setting is sufficient for medium and more roasted coffee. The barista assist function will guide beginners to a reasonable base - I recommend further fiddling with the grinder up/down a notch and the temperature. It is a good idea to warm up the coffee machine by making 1 to 2 espressos "empty". This coffee machine has 2 main target groups. Those who are starting out with coffee and want a simple yet decent espresso, or as an upgrade from an automatic machine. In both cases I can recommend it because in this price level nothing better can be found. Of course, it cannot compete with quality manual/automatic grinders in combination with a stand-alone machine, but it will provide an excellent balance between price, quality and simplicity. Last but not least, it also has a sympathetic design. Since I had studied the available reviews before buying, and since I was buying this machine primarily for espresso (and drinks made from it), I am extremely satisfied. Beware, on foreign sites you will often find reviews about the American version of this machine, which is different from the European one. The main difference is that this European version includes a separate hot water dispenser (outside the lever) and can therefore prepare a real americano.

I'm not really sure who the target audience for this machine is, and I don't really know if I'm happy with it or not. Personally, I have been running a fully manual Sage BES875BKS for a few years, but it started to leak around my head for the umpteenth time, so I decided it was time for a change. The machine can make a decent espresso (after it adjusts the dosage itself (after about 3-4 shots). But it has some major flaws.
The lever has a double outlet and therefore pretends that you can fill two cups at once when double/4 shot, but they don't fit under the lever, very hard.
Whipped milk is fine, but personally I'd say it's too hot in all cases and you shouldn't think about latte art with it. At the same time, it only has one nozzle, so whipping is really slow.
Cold brew is not cold in the true sense of the word, and espresso is around 40°C - I suppose it is expected to come straight into the drink on ice and the extraction in this case takes more than 2 minutes.
For the right part of the range of "classic" coffee drinks, the machine recommends a very coarse grind and the coffee is really downright nasty. What's odd is that while for the "espresso" selection the machine grinds the coffee to weight, for the classic selection it grinds the coffee to time - so even if you adjust the coarseness of the grind to finer, you get less coffee to leverage and the extraction is then just as poor. If you drink black coffee, you will get better coffee from a classic coffee pot with a paper filter.
In addition, the machine is rinsed after each brewed coffee / whipped milk and therefore consumes a huge amount of water. Be prepared that if you use filtered/infant water, you will be topping up very often and also pouring out the drip tray very often. For me personally, the machine is probably too automated, but I believe that for someone who doesn't have much experience with coffee and wants to take an intermediate step between expensive machines and start having a little control over their own coffee, this is a great choice.
