The jerrycan was leaking from the middle of the pipe joint inside. I had to complain. This ‘hole’ in the canister is designed to be bolted onto the vehicle. That was the case with the accompanying iron petrol/diesel canisters, from which this design originates. However, in the case of a plastic jerrycan, this opening is completely unnecessary, as the plastic would crack under the weight of the water whilst on the vehicle. Unfortunately, this retro feature is a drawback and creates a ‘vulnerable’ spot on the canister. I recommend checking that the connection is secure. My canister was completely see-through and felt soft, much like a standard PET bottle.
