It can't completely replace a live masseur, but it's still a total blast. So I would probably be more careful with more fragile constitutions with minimal subcutaneous fat, and it's fine for the softer parts of the back and neck/trapezius (I don't go around the shoulder blades for very long - but I still get relief in that area). And the neck was quite rough for the first few days - but gradually it loosened up and now it's just pleasant. And in combination with the heating, it's really wonderful - after a few days I have a new addiction.
The switching and regulating is not the most skillful, but after the first groping how to set it, you don't move it much anyway and leave it more or less set to your favourite intensity and heat - and the switching knob can be felt even blindly. For myself, I can only recommend Zatioichi, as I christened my home masseur.
