Really good value for money. It's often said that MikroTik is only for experts or that the average user will get lost in it. And yeah, it has an absolute tonne of settings, but if you sit down with the manual (or get ChatGPT to help) and then run the wizard included in the control app, it'll configure 90% of things for you in a few clicks and everything works straight away. I used to use random boxes from providers or SOHO routers, but after this experience, I don't want anything other than MikroTik. A truly brilliant and reliable device.
Works great
Fantastically fast firmware updates
European production
One 2.5Gbit port (for an SFP module)
A little more technical than the random boxes from SOHO manufacturers
Only passive POE, a shame
The performance isn't sufficient for any extensive firewall filtering.

handy and incredibly capable device, it's more like a Linux PC with eth. ports than a traditional switch
It can be quite a challenge for non-technical users
