I have the pool as the crow flies - no obstructions - 5 metres from my bedroom window. Even so, it keeps disconnecting. Repeatedly. So completely useless.
I have had the thermometer for over 1 month and it works great 👍. There was a bit of a problem with the initial synchronisation, but that was a contact thing before they sat as they should (I removed and reinserted the batteries a couple of times) and it's been running great ever since. I recommend better quality batteries. I've got mid-range batteries in there and so far they're working fine. As far as distances go, I have only tested about 10 meters just fine. It just (logically) has a problem with a thick wall, so sometimes when I take the thermometer home it gets disconnected. I definitely recommend it 👍
The thermometer is nicely made, easy to set. It has a large and clear display, looks nice. However, it is not clear to me how the manufacturer determined the transmission distance of 60 m. Did it occur to him to put the thermometer in the water while testing? After inserting the thermometer into the pool, it failed to connect with the base even at 15 m in direct line of sight. Thus, it is useless to me and I am returning it.
