I tried three different pairs of glasses in the hope of finding an alternative to a monitor for work and multitasking – having two or three windows side by side – email, text, a spreadsheet and work applications. To put it simply – the quality, stability and clarity of the image on the glasses don’t even come close to those of a standard monitor. It’s just a stopgap for travelling. YouTube videos showing people using it to replace office monitors and working on it for 8 hours a day are pure fantasy. On the other hand – when travelling or out and about – it’s definitely a handy tool, and it’s better than having to hunch over a small 13–15-inch screen. For the sake of completeness, I should mention that my prescription is 0.75+0.25 and I tested the glasses without prescription lenses. I took a rough measurement of my IPD using a mobile app and it was 1 mm below average – so it shouldn’t have a huge impact. Lenovo Legion Glasses 2
- the sharpest text and contrast (although some areas are still patchy)
- you can’t adjust the IPD, or really anything else (apart from the two mechanical positions of the nose pads and bending them)
- no ultra-wide mode – you simply have just one screen in front of you (not great – a major drawback compared to the Xreal)
- they made me feel sick within two seconds Xreal AR One
- occasionally blurry patches when reading text (not just in the corners, but small patches in the middle) – but it’s manageable
- extensive settings options, though these ultimately make very little difference – ultra-wide mode, i.e. 3 windows side by side – basic multitasking for work is fine
– they don’t strain your eyes or make you feel queasy
– picture quality – like looking through a magnifying glass at an old-school bulging monitor from 2005
- best value for money; I’ll stick with the Xreal AR Pro M
- 60% more expensive than the Xreal AR One, but I couldn’t tell what the difference was - Reading text is a hair’s breadth better, but the text is still blurry in some places – the lens is supposedly better than on the One, but I couldn’t tell the difference – it was just blurry in a slightly different way, but still a long way off a proper monitor

These glasses are the second ones I have had a short experience with. The first were XREAL Air 2 Pro AR Glass, where I would negatively evaluate mainly the image. The image was out of focus on the sides and there were also some out of focus areas in the middle. With Lenovo, the image is noticeably better and sharper throughout. When I first deployed it, I was disappointed that I couldn't see the bottom panel of Windows. I bent the paws on the nose a bit, but only after watching the instructional video did I get the best result. Best didn't mean perfect. I would still like to see a slightly wider field of view. This can only be obtained by bending the stumps and I hit limits that I just couldn't go past. What I was sorry about was the lack of transparency settings like xreal has. I'd like it if there was some sort of controller to zoom in and out.
