Although the device does have a piezo speaker that emits a 24 kHz sound, it is so faint that it doesn’t travel through the body of the device. I measured it with a frequency meter, and when the device is switched on, I can’t see any change in that frequency. I couldn’t resist, so I took one apart and tried it without the casing, and I could actually see the sound at that frequency. The problem is that this product is dangerous when open, and the assembled version does not work.
