That is, when packing. There are therefore two options: Either the final quality control check had failed, or the item had already been returned or used once. The second option seems quite likely to me, as the product had been out of stock for a long time and then only one last item appeared in stock. The situation is made all the more unpleasant by the fact that everything has to be repacked and we have to deal with handling a parcel weighing almost 50kg. On the other hand, I have to give credit to Alza’s customer support team. Without any unnecessary delay, they offered to collect the goods that were the subject of the complaint and, at the same time, offered a discount on a future order, provided the hot tub was back in stock. I appreciate that they were accommodating regarding the complaint and tried to resolve the situation. Overall, therefore, I would rate the inspection of goods prior to dispatch negatively, but the customer service team’s approach positively. I hope the replacement part will be all right, if it arrives.
