We were lucky that it took a while for the grill to heat up. The grill started to smell of paint and the paint began to peel. Fortunately, we hadn't put any food on it, because it would have had to be thrown away. When a grill painted with an unsuitable (standard) paint heats up, the paint burns off, releasing toxic volatile substances, organic solvents (such as toluene or xylene), formaldehyde, carbon monoxide and carcinogenic fumes, which smell very strong, irritate the respiratory system and can contaminate the food being prepared. Health risks and released substances: Toluene, xylene or benzene contained in standard paints irritate the eyes, skin and respiratory system. Furthermore, the burning and decomposition of acrylic or synthetic resins produce toxic fumes and poisonous smoke. Low-quality pigments can contain traces of lead or chromium, which are released into the environment at high temperatures. Enjoy your meal.
Folds up, small.
Completely unsuitable for grilling.

During use, the paint started to peel off and get into the meat. Ideal for a family with children.
