It absolutely serves its purpose for the price. Such a basic rangefinder, conveniently combined with a tape measure, is a good helper for occasional DIY or one-off planning of home renovation, as in my case. It's bigger, which may not suit people with smaller hands, but at least it looks like it can hold up. It is a bit worse with the cross, because the castle of the meter itself is not level at the bottom, there is a noticeable step in the joint of the two parts, so one does not really know in what position the meter is horizontally. Provisionally it can be solved by grinding down the plastic protrusion but it is still more of a temporary cross for hanging a picture or a mirror, not for complex construction.
