Tested on several cables, they pinch but as it is the case with cheap pliers, it is visible against the light that the jaws do not reach exactly, which is usually a problem with soft strands and thin cable fibers.
Price, for that price they work. the jaws fit well. It is not extra quality but it costs 1/5 of branded pliers. I believe that it will last for some time, so complete satisfaction for me. Perfect for hobby purposes.
I bought it to cut things 5/5. The other function is decorative for me, but I guess if you don't have a proper climper at hand, it might work after some practice
