I'm using it for a 360 g light. It works as a very flexible portable lamp. The direction can be adjusted above and below the table top. It's handy that it can stand firmly even when just placed with the clamp on the table top. I have successfully attached it to a 4 cm thick door leaf or round chair leg. With a horizontal mounting and a higher load, the jaws will start to open and the tripod will start to drop to a more stable position. A larger insertion, to the stop, may help, but the mounting surface is no longer protected from the sharp edge of the tripod.
