The way people write here about skipping and skipping the wheel is an indication of weak batteries. The mouse doesn't die immediately like most, but it does give you the opportunity to work in a more limited way. It's annoying, but not everyone has a supply of spare batteries in the office. I don't know if and how the power saving mod works, because it doesn't need to wake up and the batteries last maybe two weeks. I'm starting to look for some rechargeables with an integrated battery.
