The disadvantage I see in the closed finning on the sides of the passive, it limits the cooling of the components next to the heatsink, especially if you have an SSD with a heatsink. After replacing it with ID Cooling X226, my SSD temperatures dropped by about 7°C.

It was a forced purchase. There is no point in buying an expensive cooler for the 7800X3D, because the processor has a problem getting heat from the chip to the IHS. Those who don't want a delid should pick anything with a direct heatpipe, polish the IHS and the base of the heatsink and use a decent paste. Unfortunately, this trio of things is also a solution to the effect, not the cause.
