Our experience with the new oven
We bought the oven mainly for the steaming function, as it doesn't lose as much nutrition from the food, and we are thrilled with it. Our favourite vegetables with meat are a feast for the eyes and the palate with this oven. The food is succulent and has a beautiful colour, plus minimal fat, which is great for preparing children's meals too. In addition, the oven regulates the steam itself during the cooking process.
We would say the controls are intuitive, but it takes a while to get to know everything. The price of the oven may be a little higher, but we think that (not only) for healthy lifestyle enthusiasts and moms of little eaters, the investment is worth it.
My first steam oven. It bakes great, the steam function is excellent and the results are perfect. The controls are intuitive, but the touchscreen blows hot air on your fingers when you adjust it, and the top of the glass is warmer. Only one telescopic extension is included in the basic price, and after using steam you need to start the drying programme. But overall satisfaction.
We already have experience with a previous iteration of a "similar" Electrolux steam oven. After this experience, we decided to buy the most similar ones from the same manufacturer for the newly built kitchen. And I have to say that we are not disappointed - it works the same way - only the menu structure has been cleaned up a bit and improved (especially the part with predefined programs - supported cooking, which is useful when you want to simplify your work). Baking especially pastries is absolutely phenomenal with steam. The meat is also very good. For me, there is actually no point in buying a conventional built-in oven without steam - it can replace a free-standing "mini oven" for a fraction of the price we had in our new kitchen before we saved up for a steam oven. However, I have no experience with other manufacturers' steam ovens, so I guess it will be similar - after a previous positive experience we chose the same brand again. What bothers me the most is the dumb touch control. In the kitchen, it's especially impractical - you have wet or dirty hands all the time - and the touchpads just aren't "cool" with that. I would appreciate some sort of rotary and squishy controller for menu movement and confirmation. Too bad the manufacturer hasn't improved this since the previous iteration. What I would also improve is the addition of a direct water connection option - the reservoir is fine and large. However, if one didn't even have to refill the water tank, that would be fine.
Even baking
Great hot air
Steam functions for baking bread or meat are great
I very much dislike giving negative reviews, but in this case I can't do otherwise. I returned to Electrolux after 14 years of great experience with the previous model, unfortunately I was in for a shock from the drop in quality. Right after the first opening, there was an obvious defective plastic part, which you don't expect in an appliance of this price category.
The second big disappointment is "connectivity". In order to connect the oven to the app at all, I had to plug in a ten-year-old model next to my modern router, which I consider a technological mockery these days.
The oven bakes well.
Looks nice.
The steam functions are great.
The quick handling of the complaint by Alzou really hats off.
Connecting to a wifi network on a more modern router can only be compared to torture.
The app doesn't allow you to share an appliance for multiple people other than by logging into the same account on your phones. The cooking assistant is not available in the app.
The response of the display is poor. For an appliance of such a reputable brand and its premium range, I would expect a different category.
It came with a junk part - the top glass holder of the oven door was obviously completely non-functional and the glass almost fell out after the first time I opened it.
When registering the appliance with the manufacturer, there was an option to go on a cooking course and learn more about how to use it to its full potential, as well as receive a cookbook
easy to handle
a little worse cleaning, but it's a matter of habit
