We chose the Electrolux 700 SaphirMatt hob mainly because we didn't want the classic black glossy glass anymore, where every drop, speck of dust, and smudge is visible and needs constant polishing. And I have to say, the matt surface is absolutely fantastic! It looks incredibly elegant in the kitchen and, most importantly, it's unbelievably practical. The hob is much more resistant to scratches (for example, when sliding pots around) and maintenance is a dream – just wipe it down and it's clean. As a complete cooking novice, what I love most is the SenseBoil function. When I put water on to boil for pasta or potatoes, the hob detects when the water is at a rolling boil and automatically turns down the heat. I no longer have to worry about water boiling over and making a mess on the hob. Each cooking zone has its own slider for control, so you don't have to fiddle with clicking through settings; you just tap and you're done. Thanks to the Boost function, water boils in a flash. What's more, the hob can connect to the extractor hood, so when I start cooking, the extraction fan turns on automatically, which is incredibly convenient. Overall, I'm thrilled with this hob. It cooks brilliantly, the controls are perfectly responsive right from the first touch, and the design is just top-notch. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to spend hours polishing their hob!

My wife didn't want to hear about induction at first – you know how it is, “my sister said it's rubbish, etc.” After installation and the first few times cooking, she admitted it was a great choice, especially as we already had suitable cookware ready.
