When we were pulling the car with the rope, two of them snapped. With this bar we could even repeatedly try to start the towed car during the ride and it succeeded after a few kilometers.
The latches need to be pressed against each other with the fingers from two sides to connect/disconnect the bar.
It also fits well on car handles where rope carabiners don't fit.
Unlike a rope, the ride is smoother.
Because of the fixed distance, it is harder to connect the cars than with a rope - you have to move around.
There is still about 2cm of clearance between the cars. I think I'll fill with a thicker rope and it will be just as smooth a ride as with the more expensive adjustable bar.
