For the price it is a fine device I bought as a small heater under the table and it is quite sufficient for that. When I first turned it on, it didn't smell like plastic or at least I didn't notice it, the cable is a bit short (130 cm) for me, but there is enough possibility of just a fan without heating, the plastics don't completely touch on one side, but it doesn't affect functionality and safety.
