The hose is clear, translucent, with a chrome spiral trim. The advantage is the smooth, uniform surface (unlike all-metal hoses where dirt settles in the spiral gaps). I was a little worried about how the hose would look in the bathroom, but it looks very nice.
Compared to the original hose it is thinner / has a slightly smaller diameter (which may be related to the declared water saving mentioned on the packaging). However, the end caps are standard and fit both sides. The package also includes three sealing rings and one conical ring for even more water saving (tried it but didn't like it, I recommend using it without the conical ring).
