I disassembled the protection, checked it with a multimeter in diode mode and was not surprised. Already from the factory, the supply cable (or plug) is faulty with the phase and zero swapped! The phase is led from the plug to the printed circuit board inside by a BLUE cable and not by a brown cable, which serves as a neutral here.
Inside, the blue wire (normally neutral, here phase) is connected “correctly“ to the N-in input (zero input), the brown wire (normally phase, here zero) to L-in (phase input). The button for activating the sockets thus disconnects only the neutral and not the phase, so that the connected devices are still under voltage, which is dangerous.
I do not recommend using protection
