they're heavier, but I don't mind
when unpacked they had grease stains that could not be washed by hand, but the dishwasher coped with it and they are beautiful now.
I don't recommend putting them on top of each other (smaller on top of bigger), the plates are sharper from the bottom and they scratch on each other
