I bought this scrub more out of curiosity, as I don't normally use body scrubs very often. I simply wanted to try something new, and at such a reasonable price, it seemed like a good idea.
As far as the exfoliating effect itself is concerned, I don't have any major complaints. The combination of salt, sugar and finely ground olive stones works as a classic mechanical exfoliant, and my skin feels smoother to the touch after use. I didn't notice any irritation or other adverse reactions.
However, the biggest issue for me is what is left on the skin after rinsing. The scrub leaves a fairly noticeable greasy film, which I personally find unpleasant. In the end, I have to use a shower gel afterwards to make my skin feel truly clean. Unfortunately, this also washes away the lovely mango scent, which is one of the main selling points of this product. So I end up washing off one of the reasons I bought the scrub in the first place. :)
Out of curiosity, I also looked at the ingredients, and my experience ties in quite well with them. Coconut oil is listed in fourth place, so the greasy feel after use is not surprising. For someone with dry skin, this might actually be a nice benefit, as the oil helps to soften the skin.
The formula also contains glycerin, urea, Sodium PCA, panthenol and vitamin E, which are nice nourishing ingredients. However, it is worth adding that some of them are quite low down on the ingredient list, so I wouldn't expect any miracles from them. Lactic acid is also present, but in my opinion, the physical particles are what do the actual exfoliating.
In terms of price, the product seems very fair. For 360g you get a functional scrub with a fairly rich oil component. The formulation isn't extraordinarily sophisticated, but at this price, it doesn't need to be.
Overall, I don't think it's a bad product, it's just that the end result on my skin doesn't really suit me. If you like nourishing, oil-based scrubs and don't mind them leaving a protective film on your body, you will probably be happier with it than I was. Personally, next time I will opt for something lighter that rinses off easily and doesn't leave a greasy feel.
