I used it primarily for backup of my main internet connection at home. That is, when my internet connection drops out at home (e.g. due to some shutdown at the supplier of the fixed connection), I connect this reduction to my mobile phone (tested on Pixel 4a) and further using a network cable to the Unifi UDM Pro device, which then further distributes the int. connections throughout the house. Of course, it works the other way around, when I connect this USB-C reducer to the NB that does not have an RJ45 connector/port and connect it via cable to the home site. This also worked for me on the aforementioned pixel4a mobile phone, when I brought the internet into it via a network cable. So for myself I definitely recommend it.
